Lam graduated from the University of London with a Second Class (Upper Division) Honours Degree and admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2008.

Lam started his legal practice in 2008 and gained his extensive court exposure and experience from renowned firms in Malaysia – Shook Lin & Bok and Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill.
